Hello all. I am once again moving steadily along the road of recovery. I've been talking since the second day of surgery, but today I finally regained my full voice! Also, I have not had the urge to take pain medication today. I was very much elated to wake up today! What a wonderful day!
I still remain stuck though because I'm feel well enough that I want to get back to normal activities, but yet don't want to take risks that would lead to painful ramifications. So, I still remain a little bored. There's an SCA picnic today at Alameda I'd like to attend, but I don't think I can get appropriate garb...
I'm excited because next Thursday I have a heraldry appointment to set up my official identity. I'm planning to be a character from the Italian Renaissance. My first name will be Giovanna, a name which I am playing off of for Harry Potter and I just love the way it sounds. The costume I keep borrowing is from that time period, and I love the head piece. It carries the of Queen Amidala style, which I am obsessed with! I know the lady who created it, and I hope that she can help me make my own. I can't wait for Pensic to come! Acting, dancing, bardic, writing classes from many different cultures including: Italian, Asian, Japanese, and many more. It will be 2 weeks of nonstop fun and over 12,000 people from all over the world. YAY!
Well, pertaining to the title of my entry, a lot of good surprises have been happening lately to me. My speedy recovery is the main and most important! However, on the 4th of July, a friend of mine stopped by unexpectedly to bring me flowers in hopes of such. I was elated by such thoughfulness. Also, it's been nice to talk to Sara this entire week online. In addition, Becki invited me to go to the fair with her group. I had to decline though, because I didn't want to slow them down, nor was I sure I was up to it yesterday. Various people have written me letters and called...I never knew that so many held thoughts of me. Thank you all.
Very short and sweet today...I've been thinking a lot lately. I'll add all my thoughts in one of my famous thought provoking entries tomorrow. I've been online too much today.
