(no subject)

My back has been KILLING me. When I do take the meds, after they've worn off and I'm awake the next day, I actually feel worse. It's like my body melted (which is nice) then reformed even more fucked up.

Anyway, last weekend was a plus. I almost went to New Orleans on a whim to see the Hot Snakes with a kid from Lafayette. I'm still bummed, but I ended up having a good time.
Friday, I had a few beers followed by dinner with Joe. I really was too tired to do much more and passed out relatively early.
Saturday, after being around my brother and his lady for a bit, I have decided that maybe ALL OF HUMANITY are better independent and single. I have this tendency to try to "fix" things, including arguments, or at least change the subject to put people in better moods. Sometimes, I wish I could just daydream and let people be. That evening, I ended up finding this dog (old, black cocker-spaniel?) in the middle of an intersection. So I found some rope from a lady and walked around for half an hour with the dog trying to find its owner. If you knew your dog was nearly blind and deaf, why don't you walk it with a leash or at least put a name/address tag on it!? Afterward, Clint and Ben met up with me to grab some chips and salsa (in my case) from Rojo, then a soy chai latte from Highland. I thought I'd end the night early to continue reading Sartre, but once I returned home, I was relieved to see my neighbors - Mujtaba, Jorge, and Nathan. We drank a bit before a few of us headed to a party: dance, dance, dance, mostly with lance.
Sunday, Lance and I ate healthily at Highland to rid of the aches and daze from the previous night. We picked up Ben while wandering and exploring a bit around Highland. Then last night, the three of us had a mini-potluck. Lance brought fruit salad; Ben brought a spinach/veggie concoction. I made rice/lentils and tofu curry, mmm. We also drew tattoos on eachother, which was definitely the highlight of the night. You know I like symmetry, so Lance drew Satan on one arm and Ben drew seitan on the other. I won't discuss what I drew on them.

I'm real hungry and am ditching work early.
