Yeah, I read about some Israeli neo-Nazis in JPost, probably the first week I got here, and boggled for a long time. Especially since all but one of them were Jews. Jewish neo-Nazis. Wasn't there a movie about that?
this guy claims they're not jews-- that they are part of the like 30% of ukrainian/russian immigrants claiming judaism for a better life here in the 'rael.
don't really know what to make of wither case, really. but specifically if they really are jews is this what the current practical joke is? because it sux.
Look, they weren't halachik Jews, probably. But they had documented Jewish grandparents and emigrated under the Law of Return. I'm sure they don't think of themselves as Jews, either, but there it is.
