I tap my nails on the table as I listen to the phone ring - do people never pick up the phone? What is it with them, keeeping me waiting and everything - it's not good enough! I thought they ran a business from there. Sloppy, is what it is.

"Hello."

"Hello..." I say, wondering for a second before I place the voice. "Anya!" I sit back. "Hi! I was just thinking about you the other day...what's up?"

"I'm bored and I want someone to talk to," I tell her.

"Lovely." I say drily. "Way to make a girl feel wanted. How's things in Sunnydale besides boring?" I ask, curling my finger around in the cord. "Oh I have something I'd like your help on, too."

"You were at the top of my list of people to call," I tell her to make her feel better. "Things in Sunnydale are strange as always - the Mayor's come back. Only he's not the Mayor and there's no sign of him going for Ascension again - but Buffy's being all Nancy Drew and Giles is panicing. Nothing really changes. Except I here Giles, Spike and Riley all agreed on something."

"...I think that's a sign of the apocalypse right there, Anya." I say. "The mayor? The mayor. Mr. 'I'm wanna be a big snake and eat the town' man?" I ask. "That's really not good." I frown. That's disconcerting if I ever heard something disconcerting.

"Well, you can take the fact I'm still in town as a good sign, Cordy - if it makes you feel any better. Though I'm less likely to run away now I have a thriving business to protect. And no big snake is going to put me out of business. Anyway, I think sooner or later Giles is going to either have a heart attack or something if he doesn't get to attack the man - something's got to give. I was talking to him the other day and he was going on about handkerchiefs or something - it was all very confusing. I think he's under too much stress. Nasty things can happen under too mush stress," I tell her. "Oh, and what was it you wanted?"

"Giles is too high strung anyways, the man needs a girlfriend." I say, shaking my head. "I want you to take a look at an artifact I found...we're not sure what the hell it is, but it's got something to do with Gunn. Who's aparently resurrected and we're working on getting him out of Lawyer Central. My visions led me to this stupid little clay pot thing. I thought with your expertise you'd have a good shot at knowing what it is or at least where to look to find out, too."

"A clay pot? That's not much to go on, you know. But, I suppose that I could come over and take a look at it for you, if you wanted me to," I offer. "I couldn't stay for very long - I have the shop and Buffy's been distracted and less than reliable lately, but I could probably spare you some time. Oh, and I can bring Andrew the book that he ordered months ago that's just come in. He'd want me to do that," I add.

"He probably would. You can distract him from trying to line us up into the perfect D&D party." I say. "Yes, please, come to my hotel. Which brings me to my other idea..." I pause, smirking to myself. "I've been thinking. You do a good business there in Sunnydale, and we've got people here that could use some of the things you've got. What would you say to considering opening a branch of the Magic Box here in L.A.?"
