1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Drove across the country by myself, presented at a professional conference.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make resolutions for January 1st. I try to make life changes as they seem needed. Though, I have discussed trying to keep a better schedule lately.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but a bunch of acquaintances did, and Meredith Hotard is close.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, just celebrities I cared about.

5. What countries did you visit?
Just my own. Sometimes I feel like leaving New Orleans is like going to a different country.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A Master's Degree. An awesome job that I actually manage to want to do.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why:
None, really.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Passing comprehensive exams.

9. What was your biggest failure?
My relationship with my grad program. It's complicated, and mostly my fault.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No more than average, though I had a nasty flu around Thanksgiving.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Costumes, party dresses, materialistic goods, plane tickets, gasolines for my car.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I always answer this with, "my friends," but they do! They impress me every day and I wouldn't be half of who I am without them.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Certain friends disappointed me in some ways that were unexpected. My own, often.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills, planes, gas, costumes.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My first conference presentation, presenting with my sister, vacations.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Bad Romance - Lady Gaga

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. Happier or sadder?
Happier, I assume.
ii. Thinner or fatter?
Fatter, for sure!
iii. Richer or poorer?
About the same. More debt, though.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Work, expressing appreciation

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Complaining, procrastinating

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Went to my mom's friends' house, saw Sherlock Holmes with my mom, and hung out with my friends.

21. How did you spend New Years Eve?
B-day party, as usual. For the evening, wore a gorgeous, coral, Grecian-looking dress. Went to Henri's and had a lovely time. Went to Mojo and saw the boys. Went back to Henri's for decadent hottubbing and some sauna. Pics here.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
I stayed in love. Does that count?

23. How many one-night stands?
0

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Once again, I do new favorites. I finally watched Mad Men, which can end in nothing but love; Glee stole my nerdy, musical theatre heart and, naturally, Dollhouse. True Blood won my life for the sexy factor.

26. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No. Like I keep saying, I don't do the hate thing.

27. What were the best books you read?
Southern Vampire books. Ugh, I'm such a genre loser, but I love it. Eric Northman, ftw. Also, any book set in Terre D'Ange wins a spot, so, Naamah's Kiss.

28. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lady Gaga, by far. Tore My Heart by Oona and Dave Tweedie.

29. What did you want and get?
Yankees to win the series. A great season from the Saints. A pass on Comps.

30. What did you want and not get?
More stability in certain areas of my life, a work ethic.

31. What was your favorite film of this year?
Up in the Air, District 9

32. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Dressed as Alice Kramden with Jesse as my Ralph for my TV themed b-day party. Got drunk, played charades, danced. Hangover brunch at Nirvana as usual. Then, see description of NYE. Pictures here.

33. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Normal brain chemistry.

34. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Stopped caring for a while. Sundresses whenever possible.

35. What kept you sane?
Medication? My sisser, my mommy and daddy. Jesse. My amazingly patient and giving friends. <-- same as last year.

36. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
NPH, still. Joss. Alexander Skarsgard. The Saints.

37. What political issue stirred you the most?
Gay marriage. Healthcare.

38. Who did you miss?
Everyone who wasn't around me. I miss a lot of people very easily. <-- same as last year

39. Who were the best new people you met?
New BGSU people.

40. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
Sometimes, getting lost in sports fandom is just worth it.
