A short while ago, I had occasion to gather a portfolio of the writing I've done over the years, to hopefully start shopping it around for potential work. I've been dragging my feet on it a bit, though -- I'd had one all ready to go before this, but it was all scanned into my old computer, and got lost when that got stolen. Going back through everything felt like too much of a chore.

But I finally just did it, and now I'm sitting here with the new portfolio in front of me; it's a sampling of everything I've written since 1996, and covers everything from sample television scripts to press releases to one-act plays to reviews to articles.

That stack of paper is a half-inch thick.

I'm sitting here marveling at it, with two thoughts running through my head: that going through all of this was such an ego boost I should have done it a long time ago, and: that God-damn have I ever written a lot of good stuff.
