So, I have decided that I am going to call my new year's resolutions my new year's plan instead in hopes that I will keep up with it. Here are things are going.
Get healthy:
*Quit smoking: I had one slip up on the second on January, but otherwise, I haven't had a cigarette for three weeks today. One more week until I get a prize (yes, I have a prize system in place). Only 49 more weeks until I get a new coach purse!
*Get my body fixed-I am working on the knee part at the moment. When I went to the dr. in December, he gave me a routine to follow with exercises and taking alieve as well as a shot in the knee. Trust me the shot was not fun. Anyway, the shot got rid of some pain, but I am still having to wear a brace plus it still hurts quite a bit. So, I went back to the dr. I am going to start physical therapy for three weeks next Tuesday. If I am still in pain, then I am head for surgery. I pretty sure if I had said let's just do surgery he would have scheduled it right then and there, and I actually think he was surprised I didn't just want to do surgery. He did assure me that the surgery is not too bad, and the recover and therapy would be very short. I am still not looking forward to the surgery or the cost of the surgery. Thank god I decided to do the gap-insurance which will cover an extra $1000 the normal insurance doesn't
*Lose weight: Since I already have few extra pounds, I wanted to lose some before getting pregnant. However, quitting smoking isn't helping. I am eating more food now because I am hunger and craving more. I can't do exercises because of my knees so I am kinda stuck at the moment. I have a diet I want to look into, but I haven't had a chance yet. I am going to get a detox kit to help clear out some stuff when I get paid as well.
Read 10-20 untypical reading materials for me.
* I tried this last year, and I failed miserable. However, last year I was trying to read 30 books of three different types. Untypical for me is going to be defined as something that is not a children/teen subject or paranormal romance. Essentially, I need to read more nonfiction and better written things than I do. I so far have read two in this category: Wistful Drinking and Rhett's People. One was nonfiction, and the other was better written fiction than I have read in several years. I figured 10 should be fairly easy, and 20 would be a bit of challenge considering I have several authors I get keep up with. Plus I hope the books have to be ones I haven't read before. Plus I need to keep track of both my goodreads and shelfari accounts.
Be a better friend
* I suck at being a friend, period. I realize this, and every year I vow to do something about it. However, I still don't spend as much time as I would like with my friends, especially my girlfriends. I was thinking possible holding a monthly girl group thing. I was thinking a book club, but not everyone is a reader. I also was considering suggesting monthly tea meetings. This way we could get together and talk girlie while doing something essentially girlie. However, I wasn't sure how many would want to or would be willing to come out to Lewisville. Possible idea would to hold it each month at somewhere different. Anywho, if it something that is interesting, let me know.
Plus:
*I want to plan a honeymoon (crosses fingers) without killing my husband like I have before. We are hoping Italy, but we will have to see what our income tax return is. If not Italy, we will look at something here in the US, Napa or Washington DC perhaps.
*Pay off some of my debt.
*Save some money.
*Don't kill my kids this year.
*Find a job closer to home.
*Oh yeah, get pregnant.
So, yeah, that is my plan for the year.
