Bad parenting
I think yesterday was one of the worst days ever. Nadia has been at Bill's all week working for him and herself to sort out a party that she had planned as a sweet-sixteen (because he didn't turn up to her original one) and also as a leaving party for her and her friends. She didn't turn up all last week to sort out preparations because she had exams and she was also doing a re-sit today. Suffice it to say, Bill didn't give a shit. He had a go a her the day before because she left for rehearsals and was going to come back up afterwards, so she tried to ring him after rehearsals only to get no answer whatsoever so she didn't go. Viv drove me and Nadia up to do some more work on the marquee and finish off anything that needed doing for the party that night. As Viv was just about to set off for work, Bill popped his head round and asked Viv if she was going. She said yes and he said good. Naturally, we were all shocked by this but Viv went to say good bye to Nadi anyway. He then popped his head round again and told Viv that he didn't want her on his land, to get off and that he didn't want to see her face again until the evening! Nadi had a go at him and he shouted her down saying that if her mum didn't get off the land now then she wasn't going to have a party at all and that she should do some work if she really wanted it. Nadi was extremely upset, started crying as soon as she got back to Viv and could barely get any words out she was that upset.
When Viv left, he called me and Nadi into the marquee then had a go at Nadia right in front of me and took the piss out of her whilst she was upset. He continued to berate her and swear at her about things that happened 25 years ago (remember that she's only 16) and when she tried to tell him that had nothing to do with her, he swore at her some more and continued to take the piss out of her. At that point I intervened, telling him to leave her alone because she's just a child and he shouted at me telling me that it was no excuse and why does it matter? Nadi said that she was HIS child and still he told her what kind of excuse was that and that if she didn't stop crying now and start smiling then he would cancel the whole thing.
What a bastard! I have never seen someone be that horrible to their own family. I hope when I have kids, I never do anything like that. I felt like punching him yesterday!
