summary: Hmmm, well, Emily finds a new-ish friend..whom she likes
Author’s note: so this is (probably) the last unbeta’d chapter from now on, hope u enjoy, nothing special really, just a bit of a filler.
It was Effy.
“H-hey” Emily cheeks were reddening from embarrassment, she was standing outside with no shoes on!
The brunette let out a laugh and said: “Need a ride?”
“Thanks” The offer was too good to pass up, this was Effy, and from what Emily’s seen so far, Effy isn’t that bad.
“Where are you going?” Emily finally broke the silence by asking
“Home” Effy blankly replied before turning to the girl sitting besides her “You?”
“Home as well”
“Like this?”
“Yeah well…something happened”
“You’re always in such…dramatic situations” Effy chuckled
The redhead let out a sigh before asking dejectedly: “Is there something you can’t buy with money?”
“Air” Came the blatant reply
At this Emily immediately lightens: “Oh, yeah, air! Why didn’t I think of that before?”
The pair soon burst into laughter at the redhead’s reaction.
“Well, here’s me” When Emily got out of the car, Effy did something unexpected,
“Here, wear those” The brunette took off her own pair of sneakers before tossing them to a confused Emily.
Emily watched as the limo zoomed off with a smile. Yeah, Effy really wasn’t bad at all
The next day, Emily made her way to the familiar staircase to return the shoes only to find out that Effy really wasn’t there. There was only one more place she could think of…
Emily tried to toughen herself up while walking towards the F4 lounge. Fortunately though, Naomi wasn’t there, unfortunately, neither was Effy.
“Well well well, if it isn’t Naomi’s mortal enemy” Katie remarked with a mischevious grin.
“Well, Naomi isn’t here right now” Pandora informed the redhead
“I’m not looking for Naomi” Emily grumbled as she began to put the pair of sneakers onto a nearby table
“Hey, aren’t those Effy’s?” Pandora asks
“Yeah, they are, return them for me?” Emily requested the two girls who noddded in return.
As Emily was about to leave though, she was stopped by Katie
“Actually, why don’t you have a cup of tea before you leave?”
“So you really said that to Naomi?” An amused Pandora Moon questioned
“Yeah”
“Wow, you know, I think that’s the first time anyone has ever stood up to her like that” Katie chuckled
“Oh look, it’s Charlotte” Katie notices the figure on the television screen
“Yeah, Effy must be pleased” Pandora added
“Effy knows… Charlotte Brown the supermodel?”
“Knows?” The two rich girls said in unison before bursting into fits of laughter
“When Effy was 5, she got into a car accident, her parents died on the spot leaving her behind,” Katie started, “She then retreated in Autism, ignoring everyone…”
“The person who pulled her back was Charlotte” Pandora continued, “to us she’s just a chilhood friend, but to Effy…well, she’s like a first love, a girlfriend and a mother” The redhead’s heart sunk, how could she ever compete with some like that?
The next morning, Emily couldn’t focus on anything
“Hey you, take this” One of the girls hurled a ball hard straight at her during gym class. Normally, Emily has a very fast reaction and would’ve easily ducked the ball, but today…well…
She immediately leaves the scene to clean up her bloody nose.
Naomi sees this and quickly shows up at the bathroom door and trying to helpfully wipe the blood from the redhead’s nose. Emily immediately pushes the hand away as soon as she realized who it belonged to.
“What were you thinking? Getting hit like that?” The blonde chided
“Fuck off, I don’t need your help” the redhead tried to sound as tough as possible while obviously fighting back tears
“Don’t cry” Naomi tells her quietly, “it doesn’t suit you”
“What?! So I need your permission to cry now? And weren’t you the happiest to see me cry?” Emily counters
“Is that all you have to say to a person who came to help?”
“Who asked for your help? If everyone else died an you were the last person on the planet I still wouldn’t ask for your help” The redhead turned and stomped out
“Wh-what is it you hate so much about me?” The blonde demanded, “I’m rich, smart, good looking. How-how can you hate Naomi Campbell, are you stupid?”
“In case you haven’t noticed, I hate EVERYTHING about you, the way you look, the way you walk, even that stupid blonde hair of yours” Emily shot back, but she wasn’t finished, “and picking on weak kids with your red card or whatever, that’s the worst! In short, I hate you and everything about you!”
