Badass Women of Shakespeare
The more Shakespeare I read for class, the more I realize how incredibly amazing these women are. Sure, some of them are crazy and some of them are killers, but they're actually, you know... characters. He doesn't just use the women as foils for their significant others; they have their own personalities and their own goals and their own dreams and voices.
I mean, he doesn't get it perfect every time, there are still women whose sole goal in life is to get married to a rich man, but sometimes I think he may have been one of the first authors that actually tried to treat women as characters that could be heroes.
