Russian "Triple fanboy" here strannik01 March 27 2011, 05:37:52 UTC
I was actually kind of surprised you didn't recognize me at all. We have interacted online before. I guess I just have an inflated opinion of how memorable I am. :)

For the record, I had almost no idea what Rosario + Vampire actually was until that screening. I was actually kind of surprised. I mean, the Completely Random Panty Shots! The oddly sexual imagery and allusions! The T&A-enhancing transformation sequence! And yet, even with all that, the story was surprisingly sweet and characterization wasn't half-bad.

But yeah - it was nice to see you in person. And, believe it or not, I was kind of disappointed Kevin wasn't there. But only kind of.

For anyone curious:

I will ABSOLUTELY remember you now, and don't take it personally, because I have the memory span of a goldfish. (Also MoF has around 400 fans and that kind of scares me a little.)

If it makes you feel better, I was referring to you as "the one with the really sexy accent," so do you prefer that or Triple Fanboy? ;)

Thank you for the photos; I'll be sure to say hi more often when I see you. :)

Don't worry about it. It just means that I have to work on being more memorable. ;)

I never understood why anybody would consider Russian accent sexy (it's not like it's a Romance language), but I am not going to complain. ;)

P.S. If I wrote this an hour ago, I would leave it at that. But less than an hour ago, I accidentally deduced Trekkie Girl's identity, so I have to add that I would also settle for Trekkie Girl's Russian Ex-Boyfriend (complete with a Scott-Pilgrim-Style caption).*

*But minus the hyper-reality martial arts fights - unlike Scott, Kevin is a cool guy, and I bear him no ill well. I just wanted to use a Scott Pilgrim reference.

And now, I will run away slowly before Trekkie Girl tears me to shreds.

Yeah, Kevin called me and told me and I was like "This is either the weirdest series of coincidences ever, or incredibly convoluted stalking." :)

So do you and Kevin get to do an anime-style battle now, or what?

This is either the weirdest series of coincidences ever...

Isn't it, though? As a writer, I can't help but be amused and impressed by the whole thing. I could not have made up such a bizarre series of coincidences if I tried.

As fun as that would be, the plot mechanics of Scott Pilgrim universe would pretty much guarantee that I would be the one to get coined, so I would rather take a cue from the movie!NegaScott and have a nice, pleasant chat. Who knows - maybe we can swap some mildly embarrassing Trekkie Girl stories. :D

Actually, knowing Trekkie Girl, that's probably exactly what's going to happen ;D
