I am in Italy, specifically Florence. Or Firenze to be more so. Anyway, it's very cool. Great big basilicas, though you have to pay to get in. Massive slices of pizza, but tiny servings of pasta. And lots of tiny old women (my favourite is tiny nuns on regular-sized bicycles) and cars that are almost as small.

Still don't know where I'll be at Christmas, but I'll be back in Edinburgh for New Year (and then, somewhere else for a few weeks, and then probably home). The hostel we're in at the moment is covered in graffiti on the inside, it's rather entertaining. We watched Airheads last night.

I am almost completely out of money (300 euros and I have like 5 days to spend in Rome, so it won't even get me out of the country) and have to contemplate asking my parents for money. Boooo. Hostels in Italy don't seem to have kitchens, which about quadruples my spending. And why are people so thin here? Don't they all have italian grandmothers? I don't get it.

Love from Alex
