I...don't know where this came from.
That's really all I can say here.
Rough, un-beta-ed, and slightly sappy.
This is the last time they will see each other in ten years, he knows, but he has hope. He already dreams of a time ten years past, when they will be together forever, as she promised him. His thoughts come back to the present, as she kisses him sweetly.
“I will miss you,” she admits to him.
She can read his mind without any of her powers; he knows that he does not need to repeat the phrase, but he does anyway. “I will miss you, too.” A smile curves around her lips.
“Will you give me your heart, Davy Jones?”
He holds out the chest to her as it beats steadily and she takes it. She holds it to her ear, caressing the chest.
“I will care for it,” she promises him. “I will bury it here, so that you will always know where it is. And the key is yours, for every man is the key to him own heart.” She hands the key to him and he takes it.
“I will carry it on my person always, and I will always think of you when I see it,” he swears. She smiles again, pleased.
“Ten years,” she whispers as he leaves. She grabs his hand and pulls him to her, kissing him one last time before he must leave.
It’s this that makes the parting hard, almost impossible, but he must remain strong for her, must have faith in her. He turns to look at her as he leaves.
“My heart will always belong to you,” he tells her.
