Meant to post this last week but I forgot. Anyway, I don't know about you guys, but when a band literally tells its fans to fuck off, I'd probably say fuck you, too, and good riddance.
Billy Corgan, I love you and worship you even though you're an egomaniac genius who can't seem to make amends with his glorious past. Yes, I am probably stuck in another decade of your music, but do know that prior to this ultimatum, I really liked some of the new material. You decided to stick with Smashing Pumpkins and ride the reputation and attention that comes with the name. And because of this, you cannot blame your old fans who come to see your show expecting that at least some of the older material will be played. It's not us asking you to be "responsible", because I understand that as an artist, you make music not for anyone else's sake but for the sake of just making awesome, orgasmic music. But if you do not want that burden that comes with the name, then you should have decided to go with another reinvention and let SP stay in another era. Despite all this, I'll still look forward to hearing new material and wait for new songs that I might like.
