I failed my anatomy practical exam. I knew I was going badly in this unit, but you know seeing that you've fucking FAILED is depressing. Blerg. Now I'm pretty sure I've screwed up my physiology exam as well. Godamnit Mel, why can't you do better? I'm so

Man, that really sucks about your class, sorry. :C

That pic is looking pretty good. I really love the evil guys face, the angle looks great.

Crit:

- The first thing I questioned was that spear. I know that you wanted to be able to show the tip of it there, but it's REALLY long (that's what she said). Maybe if you showed the end of it up at the top of the image it would not seem so impractical as a weapon.
- I think the good guy's hips are too thin. They kinda just go straight down from his really thin abdominal area. If he's that thin, I think his hips/legs/butt should be wider.
- The composition is pointing me down, with the dark wings pointing down the page, and then they line up with the good guys hand there. But what does it all point to? An empty space, with some ribbon/cloth. I tried scribbling ideas on PS for different comps but they all ended up looking pretty crappy, so I don't have a solution for that. I just feel like the composition leads your eye down the image, to the legs of the good guy and then continues to lead you off the page.

Hey thanks for the honest crit! :D

Perhaps I should lengthen the pic a bit? I'll get the whole guy in then. About the empty space, maybe I should work on the background a bit, sor place something in the guys's hand or something . On the other hand I could attempt to change the angles of the bad guy's wings so they draw more attention to the stabbing bit. :S

Like, I said I am not sure ... I wouldn't think you would want to lengthen the image, but I would be wrong. I tried to redraw the wings earlier in PS quick like to make them point more towards the stabbing ... but it ended up sucking. Although, the fact that I can't draw wings at all didn't help either.

- I would just suggest sketching out the different ideas that you have on top of this and see if you stumble onto something that looks really good. The composition isn't terrible as it is here or anything. So if you can't find something that looks better then I would just keep it similar to this.

I should really plan these thisngs more thouroughly. I generally just draw what's in my head and jsut kinda stick to that. I'm such a lazy ass. XD

Mmmm... maybe if I shift the camera angle a bit higher so rather than looking at them straight onwards we're more like above them...
