I am so excited!
Some asshole I don't even know came and commented on my facebook status (he was a friend of a friend). He said stupid things and then I went off on him and banned him from my page. I respect my friends rights to have different opinions, but I don't respect strangers insulting my beliefs on my page.
I wished I had the elegance of bonnie_halfelvn but instead I did a horrible attempt at channeling her, and I failed.. I instead was just mad and then followed it up with "so shut your face". I was super proud of me for not yelling a string of obscenities at him - it seems I have made atleast some progress.

Daniel Blanco I agree with you Jay....I though the last time I read the constitution and the bible that marriage is between a MAN and a WOMAN. a man can't give birth (thank God) and women can't produce sperm. so why the two of the same sex wants to do something like that....GROSS!!!!
Stevie Rae Bryant yes, the bible does say that, but it also condones bigamy. Do you have more than one wife? The Bible also states that we are to love our brothers and accept them as they are. How is it possible to "love" someone while telling them they are not allowed to also love who they choose?

Anyone who has ever divorced, worked on church day, worn polyester, grown more than one vegetable in their garden, trimmed their beard, touched a woman on her period, eats a steak that still has blood in it (read: not well done), etc etc has no business quoting bible versus of their choice. Follow them all or shut your face.
Oh and if you actually read the constitution, you would know it says nothing about marriage.
P.S. What do making babies have to do with marriage? I know lots of people who are infertile, should they be banned by people who think like you? Probably. You need something to feel superior about.
P.P.S. In this country we have a right to freedom of religion. I think you were supposed to learn that in 3rd grade.
So yeah, that was the stuff that was said. I guess he would get the email alert in his email and I hope he read it there - because he can't come on my page. Had he disagred with me in a polite way I would have let him come back and speak, but I won't deal with rudeness or stupidity.
The good news is.. as of this moment there is a victory for gay and lesbians. I don't know how long this victory will last.. but it is there for now. It's all about the baby steps!
