So I just found a test from a few months ago in which I had to write a ballad...
...said ballad was iffy, but I think I'll post it anyways cause I like it. In case you couldn't tell, it's about murderous wraiths.
Enjoy :)
beware of the night so cold,
for murderous shadows haunt the old,
waiting for their chance to strike,
of their cruelty, you've not seen the like.
walking now, on Hallow's Eve,
beware of all the things not seen,
for especially near the place of stories told,
murderous shadows haunt the cold.
the little child that walked in, you see,
was dressed like a pumpkin; she no longer breathes.
and for every step her terror grew, twofold,
not knowing of the shadows that haunt the old.
she did not know to run away,
until, at last, it was too late,
and the shadows took that chance to strike,
of their cruelty, you've not seen the like.
so beware, dark stranger, of the night so cold,
in which murderous shadows haunt the old.
