Welcome to the Queen K philosophical hour..... well, journal entry.
Isn't it funny how people come and go in your life. Some you like to remember, some you want to forget, some you've known for years and some who you've only just met, yet feel like you've been friends for years. Past lives I say.
I do believe in karma, I do believe that what goes around comes around and to a certain extent you have some control over your own destiny. Its all about the choices we make, and then how we act on them. This is all coming from conversations with friends of late, about life, love and music.
Its funny how things can change meaning or feeling over time too. My reference for this at the moment is the Smashing Pumpkins. I remember how lost, hopeless, depressed and angsty I was in High School and just how much this music meant to me as an escape from it all. I listen to it now, 8-10 years on, I am older, wiser, experienced so much and it is stirring up different and new emotions than it used to. Now I listen to it and I feel happy, enriched, enlivened and hopeful. But thats the beauty of music isn't it? That's exactly what its all about my friends. Why I have nothing but passion for music and all its complexities.
Anyway - today Holly came over for lunch. I made vegie soup yesterday so we had that then headed up the mountain again to play. Not as cool as last week in Olinda, but we went to have Devonshire Tea in Sassafras. It was charming. Had a good chat about guys and relationships and stuff. I took a few pics, but when we got to the observatory there was still a massive cloud of fog over Melbourne and not worth taking pics. So just took at few crappy ones in Sassafras. Also took some in the back yard this morning, looking all ambient (said with french accent hehe) with the fog in between the gums. Very pretty, but didn't come out as nice in the photos. But I'll post em up anyway.
Other than that, made a chicken pie for dinner (cos Ali got caught in traffic), dad is sick with a cold, mum hurt her back and I have crap to do for the CD budget. I better get cracking on it cos I wanna watch TV at 8.30pm hehe.
Here are the backyard pics:
