It's About That Time Of Year Again??

I believe that the Christmas season is coming! Why? The first sign is that there are TONS of advertisements announcing the sales (which have decided to start too early this year to try & improve retail sales [the economy].....) so that we can start buying presents for people. Sometimes it's difficult to decide what to get for people & it's especially hard when you have no money!:( I feel overwhelmed by all of this; that is part of why I feel so down when these lovely holidays are coming up or during the season. There is way too much pressure & urgency to be in a cheerful mood when you do not actually feel cheerful in the first place. It all makes me want to hide until January! I guess everyone loses their mind over these holidays at some point, right? I have been feeling down in the dumps lately for a lot of reasons & it does not help matters when you are told you must go shopping when you would rather save your money until December is actually here!!
I also have a question in mind (in relation to this topic): How do people who do not believe in any religion feel or celebrate this time of year?? *I am not trying to offend anyone here!*
