Its funny that I wrote a journal about my aunt day before yesterday because she died early yesterday morning. I spent the day with my parents, Lael, Ethan, Kathy's best friend Jan, and my aunt Jane...understanding the loss of a beloved mother, friend, sister, and aunt. Lael has (wisely) scheduled time with her friends to stay with her so she wont ever have to be completely alone for the next two weeks. I can't imagine how hard it is to lose a parent or a grandparent. Losing an aunt is hard enough. My sympathies go out to Alina, who has lost so much this winter. I don't feel like I was there enough for you, mostly because I don't know how to act in times of grief. You really shouldn't have to ask, it should just be there. I hope there isn't a next time anytime soon, but at least I know how to support the people I love when these things happen. Sometimes it isn't saying anything (and I am a woman of words so this is tough for me to understand) its just being there in mind and body that can help.
I love you all.
