The oracles had been gone for nearly a half hour again, and Cordelia was starting to get pissed. All total, she'd been trapped in this marble hell for almost an hour, and she was starting to get anxious. If they kept her here much longer, someone was going to notice and start to worry. As promised, Angel was out prowling the streets trying to find an oracle. You'd think there would be more links to the powers running around, especially in the city that never sleeps, but apparently they were in short supply. Unless they were purposely avoiding Angel. After all he had been the one to turn his back on them more than once. And when things went to hell and back with Wolfram and Hart, he turned his back for the last time without looking back ( ... )

Cordelia hadn't known what to expect when the oracle drew his hand back into the room, but an actual person was at the bottom of her list. And Angel, no less. Color her shocked.

"What...?" She looked at the oracles, confused. "This is the Champion you meant? I thought he was done with that. Why did you bring him here? Can't you find someone else?"

Before they could answer, she turned back to Angel. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drag you into this. They said they needed more champions, but I never expected..." She sighed and rubbed her face tiredly. She wasn't sure why she felt so tired all of a sudden. She'd only been in here for about an hour. "I should have known there'd be a catch. There's always a catch with them."
