How do you add the "blobs"? I mean, tool you use for that?

Usually I add a solid color layer, mask out the whole thing and using a soft brush on a low opacity (usually 20%) I start to unmask the areas a bit at a time. I set that layer on Screen.

I like this method because then I can change out the color and/or add more/less of the light blobs as many times as I want. Since I frequently keep changing or tweaking my icons right up until I post them, this works the best for me.

I almost never use to many vibrant layers, but doing it the way you did, it really brings out the colors, and in a totally different way. Thank you!

Some people like to make complex icons, some like to use lots of textures, or are good with text, etc.This is how I make my icons. it's all I know, :)
