1. bill james:
   Ah yes, can't get enough of this guy. The best baseball thinker of all-time. Not only is the man a genius, but he's one of the best writers period. As he once said, he'd probably still be a writer if baseball never existed, but because it does he can't imagine writing on much else.
2. cosby:
   The Cos-man! A Pantheon-level Ned's Heroes Hall of Fame member. Absolutely one of the funniest men whose ever lived, and he never comprimised himself. Just read a 40 year old interview he did with Playboy, and it really reaffirmed my belief that if I could be anyone besides me, LeBron James, and a multi-billionaire; I'd be Cosby.
3. espnclassic:
   The best of all non-ESPN ESPN sister channels. Not only does it show endless SportsCentury episodes (greatest series EVER), but it shows endless Classic games (where else can you watch that Celtics-Pistons series from 1986) AND NFL Films (salivating). Unfortunately we don't get ESPN in Canada, and thus, no ESPNClassic progamming. (tear)
4. george kaufman:
   Ah yes, George Kaufman. One of the greatest Comedic writers of all time. I recommend any and all of his works. He wrote several great Broadway classics (You Can't Take it With You, etc.) and screen classics (including the Marx Bros. legendary Animal Crackers). He more than anyone exemplifies that brevity is the key to writing.
5. kitty cats:
   You better believe there won't be many years of my life that will be cat-less.
6. mr. t:
   The man, the myth. That TV Land is producing a Dr. Phil-like show for him reminds me that the universe is still a good place.
7. roman polanski:
   Director of two of my favourite movies, The Pianist and Chinatown. Unfortunately, his fugitive status in the U.S. makes him practically unreachable. Fortunately his abilities more than make up for his love of young girls.
8. the band:
   As George Harrison once said, The Band is the best band in the world. I agree entirely. Not only did they make some of the best music anywhere, but turns out despite their borrowing hevily from US history and Appalacian culture, they're actually Canadian.
9. the marx brothers:
   The best that ever were. Period. Not only does their influence make them a must on any interests lists, but they're still hilarious 70-80 years later. Not many can claim that achievement. ...
10. w.c. fields:
    ..But this guy is another. I recommend either 'Its a Gift' or 'The Bank Dick'. Great talent. Excellent delivery style. Alcoholic.
