Writing Rant
I suppose ranting counts as complaining so I'm really sorry.
I didn't get any writing done last week; I'm stalled on Chapter 13. Any time I try to get going again, that little stupid voice whispers in my ear that things aren't good enough.
"You cut too much. There's not enough emotion anymore, not enough to connect the reader to the characters. When people say it reads fast, it means there's nothing there but the stark minimum and it stinks. And for Heaven's sake, cut the damn cuss words!"
Okay, so the last one is legitimate. I'm embarrassed to admit there are 3 cuss words in the first two chapters alone. What does that say about me as a person?
Please, God. Help me get past this. I'm supposed to be making my story better, not cutting it off at the knees.
