Maybe the American public will start realizing that "Aw shucks" is no way to run a country and be a world leader. There is much to analyze here, but I give it to Kerry hands down. He wasn't too stiff, he was calm and confident, and he put Bush on the ropes early. Bush seemed a bit lost and confused, then angry, then flustered. It wasn't a pretty performance by our "president".

Too much to truly touch on, for me. I think there will be at least one more debate. There would almost have to be. Bush and CO. can't let this one sit. They may be a bit punchy at the moment, but they are wily and resourceful. Kerry got a big bump last night. Hopefully he can gain momentum going into the polls.

And my god, I watched all the hyperbole coming out of Spin Alley, too. Rudy Giuliani may have been a strong mayor, but now he is a Republican lap dog. His criticism of Kerry was always geared towards the flip-flop dead horse. He even used examples from the debate that I found far-fetched at best. Have a biscuit, Rudy. Good boy.

I will part with what I felt was Kerry's best line from the evening: You can be certain and still be wrong.

Right message, right man, right time.

Since I heard it on the radio first, and because I was paying attention to the pre-debate spin, I was absolutely stunned with the whole "Kerry won" thing. The whining on right-wing blogs took me by surprise too.

Once again, how you look on TV seems to be the difference. Kerry reminded me, of all people, of Reagan last night. Calm, confident, presidential. Hope he keeps it up.
