Back again to blog! According to livejournal, it has been 2 weeks since I last blogged, so I'm here to update! I have lots and lots of things that I want to talk about, so I'll just list them down and go into detail! I sound so organised, am so proud of myself!
1. Trapped in Singapore with my family
2. Watching Hero with Kah kay aka Kiki and Janey
3. Trip to Malaysia
1. Okay... I swear this is really strange. One day, my family and I went for breakfast at the Blanco Court Prawn Mee Store, then we decided to walk to Suntec City to do grocery shopping at Carrefour. Due to the construction taking place at the usual path where we take, we got confused and took the path next to it and ended up along this trail with loads of trees. We did not really care because we are practically at the central of Singapore with tons of shopping , how bad could the path pose to be? So we were gobsmacked when we realised what happened. The route was muddy, so I soiled (GOOD PUN, EH?) my slippers and the creepers hanging out of the trees were so plentiful, I half expected Tarazan to swing by (Which would not be such a bad thing, when I go on to what happened next). We ended up at this construction site whereby we had to tread now slowly down a slope comprising of loose pieces of rock and concrete. After all that, we ended up at Nicoll Highway and thus TRAPPED! The cars speeding by were seemingly endless, and we got strange looks from the people in their cars. [HAH! Just when you thought that people getting stucked at the highways only happen in television programmes.] After mulling around for 5 minutes, we dashed across the road and LIVED... with no broken limbs at all (: I shall challenge someone sporty to that route soon! Maybe Zhi Han or Chee Weng? Perhaps Sheldon? See if National 8th can get pass the "Obstacle Course" safely!
Is this trespassing?
2. I am going to marry Takuya Kimura and he is going to whisk me away to Japan and profess his everlasting love towards me! Until that happens, I reserve my right to be crazy over Jay Chou, Lee Hom and the CUTE CUTE MOONWALKER [Soon to be my cousin's guitar teacher]. Anyway, we went to Vivo City to watch it, but the movie was so popular that we couldn't get tickets to the 3.20 show, unless we were willing to strain our necks and risk whiplash, so eventually we settled for the 6 'o clock show. It was relatively good but the ending was a little too abrupt for me.
3. MALAYSIA... TRULY ASIA! I think that is highly debatable, but I shan't go into that, lest I never get started on how the trip went. We took a prenium trans-star bus there, meaning that we each get our own TV screen, and I watched Shrek for the 6th time. Not my idea of time well spent, but it'll do. We reached Pearl International and despite the fanciful name, the stay there for the first 2 days was a total horror. The first room that they gave us had a faulty air-conditioner, so my aunt went down to complain and eventually only till midnight did we get another room and guess what, the next room that they gave us had a faulty air-conditioner too. So the first night was horrible! Got some shopping done at Mid Valley Mall on the first day though. We had dinner at Madam Kwan's! Love the Nasi Bojari! Great fried chicken! Then we went to Baskin Robbins to get some ice-cream, since BR outlets are non-existent in Singapore. I had Lime Sherbet and Blue Raspberry! Nice, except that my tongue turned blue and it matched the colour of my outfit that day.
Just imagine! My tongue turned a shade of blue just like the ice cream in the picture! Too much artificial colouring! After eating, we shopped around the mall and I got a pair of boardshorts from Body Glove. FINALLY! I have a decent pair of boardshorts!
After a terrible night's of sleep, we went to visit our relatives at Petaling Street (Their Chinatown), our grandaunt gave us loads of Natural Stone accessories. I got 1 amethyst, 1 with random stones and a necklace, my cousin got the amethyst one too and a black one (I have no idea what stone it is) and my brother got a bracelet with tiger eyes. Looks like those buddha beads though, but its kind of bohemian looking, if you ask me. After telling our relatives what happened in the hotel last night, they insisted that we moved in with them, but my cousin and brother simply refused to, as they wanted to swim in the hotel's swimming pool (As I am typing this now, my cousin is yelling "freedom"). At night, our relatives brought us to this coffee shop, BUT the food was FANTABULOUS! We had huge fried prawns (the size of my palm) and I had like the best fried fish ever! I MISS THE FOOD IN MALAYSIA! =D
I don't have pictures of the food, because it was too good to waste time taking photos and I wasn't very comfortable with my relatives, so I was very quiet and kind of distant during the dinner. I have the pictures of the bracelets and all though.
I don't care if it look dowdy, my grandaunt threaded them herself, so I will try to wear them as frequently as possible! What's more I genuinely think it looks nice!
Like this one! I love the earthy hues!
This one will make me smart! Guess I'm never going to school without it! My cousin has one like me too! Apparently, my brother doesn't need to boost his smarts, because the one he got is to generate wealth!
Went back to the hotel and requested for a change of room, we got this room, which had no shower and the room stank to high hell, so we requested for ANOTHER change of room. Finally, we got a normal room with a working air-conditioner! I'm telling you, Pearl International is the most horrible hotel that I have ever patronised! While, we were complaining, there were two other customers filing complaints at the same time! One complained that the staff was rude, the other one was complaining that one of the housekeeping staff entered their room, but luckily they latched the door. The woman was really mad and I guess she was not wrong in behaving like that, I mean I would too, if a stranger tried to enter my room.
During the third day, I had the most fun! I slept till 12 and we met up with my uncle and went to Sunway Shopping Centre, I bought 2 bags! I'm spending money that I have not earned yet! I'm living a life of debt! I adore the bags though and I think they are really good deals.
After shopping, we headed to Petaling Street, and nothing caught our eyes because the only products that were sold there were imitations and in the first place, we are not very brand conscious. Since there was nothing much to do, we headed down to the stadium to queue for the seats because our seats were free-seating.
We queued for 1 hour outside the stadium, not that standing would have been much of a problem. It was just that there was no proper line, everyone was just congregating around the entrance. When it was admission time, everyone was joslting in and there was no order at all. The fact that I managed not to yell at someone proved that my tolerance level had reached an all-time high. We were seated at 7, but the concert only started at 8.30, so in the end, we had to leave before the concert ended! Farenheit was the special guest stars, but Jiro wasn't there...I wonder why. It was a good concert though. When we left the stadium, we actually saw groups of people outside peeking in. I was stunned. Is it a way of life or what? Had Ramly burger and had lots for supper, because the food in Malaysia is really different from Singapore, though we are only a line apart.
Finally, LAST DAY! WELCOME BACK TO SINGAPORE, SITA! We took a first class coach back, this time you can choose from a range of 50 movies from the Personal Television, I watched Just Follow Law and Memoirs of a Geisha. Do you know that if you take first class, they actually distribute blankets, lest you get cold? I was complaining about it to my aunt, like "People taking prenium and deluxe won't get cold de meh?" I guess the level and the extent of the service really depends on how much you are willing to pay.
Anyway, I'm really tired. This post took me 4 hours! Tata~
