It's been 4 days since I finally got my license and today was my first time getting behind the wheel. Coincidentally, we were going back to my old hometown, KB and after a LOT of begging, I got permission to drive around town. The only reason my parents agreed to let me take the wheel was because KB is a safe and does not have congested traffic. If I were to ask to drive in the city, my parents would likely have taken my license... =="
We took my sister's car, a 14 year old , red, Mitsubishi Lancer. I've sat in this car millions of times before but today I found myself in the driver's seat. Even if I didn't show it, because my ego got in the way..., I was really, really nervous! Dx My sister sat shotgun, monitoring me. Before I could switch to reverse, my sister told me to switch seats. My jaw dropped, neither of them trusted me with the car, one bit did they? I narrowed my eyes at my mom who just waved and smiled at me from the porch. "I'll reverse the car for you, it's too narrow." said my sister and I reluctantly got ou t and let her do what she said she would. >.>"
AFTER it was safe for me to drive, I had to deal with my sister going on and on about controlling my speed and breaking when we got near the humps (we were in the suburban area where there were loads of humps). Seriously, wouldn't I know that already? I mean, I DO have a license now. When will they stop treating me like a little kid? =3= What really bothered me was when we reached a stop where there was some construction works going on. My sister told me to turn left which I did but then she panicked and yelled, "Right! I meant right!" Omg, what was she trying to do, give me a heart attack?!? I'm the one behind the wheel here! But in the end we arrived safely Excapade Sushi. x) It was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for me getting a license. My parking wasn't bad even my sister complemented it. haha~ See, I'm no Spongebob! xD
Well we ordered two cokes and 6 plates of sushi. We wolfed down the fish since the both of us kinda skipped lunch. ^^" I was surprised my sister could fit a whole California Maki into her mouth! xDDD We talked and did what normal sisters do when they hung out but then my phone rang with Hibari's theme song (=P) as the ring tone. People thought it was catchy, bobbing their heads to the tune. I flipped my phone open and then I remembered that my phone was busted... ==" Seriously need to get a new one btw. My mom was screaming to the receiver but she couldn't hear a word I said. Dx FAIL! So she called my sister's cell which had like the WORST ring tone EVER! >.>" Turns out, they wanted to join in the sushi fun. Well, my dad did since my mom was never a big fan of Japanese delicacies. We were already halfway through our sushi and the last plate (my Twins roll) took forever to get to our table because someone 'forgot' yeah right Dx our order.
When it did came however, my parents were already sliding into our booth with smiles and a scowl from mom. We ended up ordering main dishes too and dad was grabbing a lot from the sushi train. I was stuffed. =) The initial plan was for my sister and I to go dutch but since my parents were there... =DDDD We only paid for our cokes since the cashier didn't have extra dollar bills. x) hehe~
Welps, it was already dark outside but I my dad said it was okay for me to drive. I was about to close the car door when my sister protested, AGAIN! Dx Someone please shoot me! So, in the end, she drove her back to her house... ==" My parents were already there, watching if I made it in one piece. They were surprised though when they saw me in the passenger's seat instead. "It was supposed to be me! Dx" I gestured at them. We got out and I was still pouting. My mom seemed to be on my sister's side, telling her it was the right thing to do. "It's dark and you're not used to the road yet." both of them said but crap, I'm gonna learn it one day or another so why not NOW? >.<" My broter in-law came out and lit a cigarette, babbling about how it was normal for first time drivers to get into accidents which freaked my mom and sister out.
I went inside and started to play with the new addition of the family, a rabbit which we called 'Marche Hare' xD I know it's lame but the kids came to like the name so it stuck. x) The little thing cuddled to me and I smiled whispering what I knew, even if my mom and sister didn't to his long ears. "I'm no Spongebob!" x)
