Rambling about screenprinting

I need to stop bumming around and falling asleep when I get home. It's just, I'm so worn out from school and commuting, and usually not having enough sleep, I can't motivate myself to get straight to work no matter how much shit I need to get done by the next class. I end up not starting to work until like, 7 or 8, maybe even 9, which makes me stay up late doing more work, and it's just a vicious cycle. But yeah...monotype projects in screenprinting tomorrow, and I'm not exactly sure I quite understand what this entails. Every one's supposed to be different or something? And supposedly we can use mixed media, but not until after the in progress critique? Whatever, it's confusing. But I'm going to end up wanting to do something ridiculously complicated for all of them and everything I do involves figures of some kind and it's going to drive me crazy. I guess I'm going to see how much art I can recycle, and how much can be done with stencils so I don't have to clean the damn screen all the time, because I stayed after class for two hours trying to get it cleaned out after last time, and ugh.

And this whole theme thing I'm supposed to be working with! omg it's ridiculous, and completely unnecessary, especially for a medium most of us are just learning! We don't need to be bogged down with concepts when we're busy trying to figure out how to even make the prints work! I don't even know what my theme is STILL after my original one got shot down. But you know what, I don't even fucking care, I'm just going to do whatever I feel like and hope it looks like it's in a theme. Fuck this shit, if somebody else's theme can be "portraits of my dog" mine can damn well be D.Gray-fanart.

Speaking of, here's a picture of one run of my last project. It's on newsprint, and has some weird textures, but I think that makes it cooler. I kind of wish I'd done one on real paper though.

I'll probably take a picture of the full thing when I get them back. And I still need to add something to the other one I did, because I accidentally blocked part of it out when I was doing it, which makes me sad. It needs dirigibles!

But yyyeah...I guess we'll see how that goes. I don't know if I want to stay after class, I'm not sure I'll have enough to do, and I have a quiz tomorrow night that I haven't studied for at all, so.

In other news, I've actually started on that drawing every day thing. More on that later, probably. Back to work for now.
