Well, YAY!
GUYS, THE KITE RUNNER MOVIE IS COMING OUT IN NOVEMBER! Guess who's not going to go see it! :D :D :D
I just watched the trailer though. XD It looks just as uninteresting as the book. ALSO, my movie poster is better! Or it would be if I'd done a better job with the actual illustration. I should go back and work that out for my portfolio...but I think that happens next semester. I think it would be better as maybe a watercolor painting than a vector illustration. I'm not sure I'm that ambitious, however. HERE, let's compare!
Note how the official one makes it seem like it is NOT a completely depressing story! In fact, how boring is that? Seriously, this could be for ANYTHING. You pass that poster, and you'll be like "Huh, some movie about friendship or something. Whatever." whereas with mine you say "Holy shit, some guy's getting executed! Dramatic!" Do these guys even want people to be interested in their film? Also, the quote they chose seems to be "There is a way to be good again," while I thought "No matter how you try to bury it, the past will claw its way out" more appropriate. Honestly, if I go back and pretty up that image with some more traditional media, mine has that shit BEAT.
I'm almost tempted to poke at that now, but omg, portfolio layouts for tomorrow much more important. Waah, do I know what I'm doing yet?
