i have had so many thoughts about this over the years. at present i'm in the place of not being able to reconcile the way i feel these things are and should be with what i read in the bible, no matter how hard i squint. /o\ but i'm always interested in peoples' journeys with this stuff.
I have a lot of issues as well but I really try to remember that Christ's message was about love and everything else is just kinda tacked on.Since I was about 18 I've really had a hard time being involved with churches. So it's been about ten years of fighting with myself primarily. I really do feel like a I have a personal relationship with God(which most of my atheist friends make fun of me for)but I generally cannot reconcile myself with church.
i came into the church at 16 through friends and lived pretty "full on" for a good 15 years. then the last 10 years have been spent moving further and further away from it. first i left the church to save my faith. and now i feel like i'm waking up and can't believe some of the things i used to accept and believe and not question myself about. i have no idea where i'll end up but it's been a fairly intense aspect of my life.
