That is one comic books series I keep meaning to pick up. My friend lent me a couple of volumes but we rarely see each other so I never got to finish it. And now the movie is coming out. So excited for it!

I think I first heard of it on The Most Evil Website In The World (colloquially known as TV Tropes), then at the convention I went to a couple of weeks ago one of the booths had the work-in-progress version of the XBox Arcade game playing. Then I saw the trailer for the movie and was intrigued, and finally I bought the first volume. It's really funny, quite clever, and as I said extremely nerdy. I daresay there are references I'm missing but they're almost always very casually dropped so you don't feel like it's been shoved in your face or anything.

It's a series I'm going to buy, but well, not two days before vacation, haha!

And why is TV Tropes called "The Most Evil Website In The World", may I ask? O.o

Because TV Tropes will ruin your life, of course. Although I'm relatively immune to its effects now, and I can easily get away from it in less than an hour. Sometimes.

....Thanks a alot. I've already found the fanfic page. Gorramnit. Well, I guess I don't need to sleep before work.

I'm sorry I asked why it's called "The Most Evil Website In The World". -_-

Sorry :( My best advice is to learn to step away from the computer. The pages will still be there when you get back.

And if I don't hear from you in 72 hours, I'm calling the police with your last known open tab.

D: No, they won't. Must. Keep. Reading. It's fascinating stuff.

You may not hear from me in 72 hours because I'm going to Florida though, haha. xD

Muwahahaha, and now I have the power to stalk you--

Careful. The "My Immortal" chasm is somewhere in that vicinity, and few return from there with their sanity intact.

If you're talking about the most infamous Harry Potter fanfic ever, been there and read parts of it before I died from laughter/horror/disbelief/take-your-pick. I heard once, someone died from drinking shots of water to a drinking game involving that fic. O_o

I am. I've never even dared to try reading it, but it appears frequently on TV Tropes particularly in fanfic tropes. And I'm pretty sure it's one of the main origins of the "Draco in Leather Pants" stuff. It sounds worse than "The Eye of Argon", which I have managed to read all the way through (with help of an MSTing).

Apparently Draco in Leather Pants came from the Draco Trilogy. Three fanfics by a Big Name Fan author who got into big trouble for plagiarizing. She's now a published author, Cassandra Clare (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassandra_Clare). My Immortal is something else entirely special. :P

Erm...what's MST?

Ah, yes, Cassie Clare. I'm moderately familiar with her work (and her notoriety, which admittedly was not entirely her fault).

MST is "Mystery Science Theatre 3000", the style of which is used in some fanfiction reviews. Essentially you just get a bunch of characters (sometimes the ones from the show) to interject with bad jokes throughout the work. Done well, an MST (also MST3k) can be as entertaining as a good fanfic itself.
