In 1971, in the Vietnamese village of My Lai, an American military unit was caught doing what came to be understood as a routine matter among ground troops: slaughtering innocent civilians. The platoon’s young commanding officer, the notorious William Calley, was slapped on his wrist, and the war dragged on for a few more years. The mainstream media at the time portrayed this as just an aberration, but Winter Soldier begs to differ.
Scott Camil, a longtime local activist is prominently featured in this film. Scott has graciously agreed to be available to discuss the film. We will have a short reception opening night from 8:30-9:15pm. Scott will also be available for questions between shows on Nov 7th, 8th, and 10th.
