"To the pain"

I am just now returned from being at the Flogging Molly's concert. It was thier Green 17 Tour.

After a few songs a path opened up to the mosh area, and who am I to resist. I spent most of the time somewhere between five back and three back from the stage.

The fact that I can back press 190lbs helped alot. Also the fact that it was soo crowded we couldn't do more than shove helped. I held up to the heat and the press of bodies, until a fight broke out and someone pulled there arm back to punch the shit out of another person, but my ribs where in the way. Thier elbow cracked right between my ribs and I couldn't get enough air in. That was it for me and I made my way to the sides.

I am surprised I have toes left.

It was WONDERFUL!

After the show, three of the band members came out to do signatures. I got a used pre-signed guitar pick from the second guitarist, who was a very friendly guy.

Did I mention it was a sold out show?

I hurt in so many places. I was so coated in my sweat and the sweat of a couple of dozen other people, I had to change shirts before I left.

When they come back, I am going again.

This band was the second opening act. They are amazing. Truly fucking amazing. I have two autographs on the cd we picked up. The lead guitarist has been playing guitar since he was six years old.

It has been a great night, but now I must go and nurse my wounds, a warrior of the first three rows at a Flogging Molly's concert. I must get my hair out of the crazy knotted mess it is and wash out the sweat of so many strangers.

Tomorrow I will hurt more, but I will not regret the pain. Rather I shall cherish and embrace it.

What a night!
