I haven't been arround much in forever.  Apparently I have trouble juggling Facebook, Twitter, and Livejournal as well as real life filled with too many hours of overtime and general ennui. I have missed a lot from my flist, and I apologize for that.  Other things I have read, but haven't taken the time to comment on, which is kind of stalkerish, but I guess that's just how I roll.  Nothing much has changed in my life (thus the aforementioned ennui) and I guess it's just hard to get motivated to post the same old gripes about things that haven't and aren't likely to change.

I have become immersed in a new fandom, Psych (cinderlily I think mentioned this show forever ago-- why did I never look it up until now?!?  So awesome)  I think I've got a bit of an unhealthy crush on all the main fellas. Detective Lassiter especially, which is odd because I think the show tries hard to make him unlikeable with just a hint of potential, but I fairly regularly find myself hoping he one-ups Shawn. And he's not what I'd consider my usual type (a little too old, I'm not normally into blue eyes, the famous chest hair aka the sternum bush...) but I can't help but think that he is a foxy foxy man.

I have also decided that Lassiter's character is basically Ray V. and Fraser from Due South combined into one person.  He's got the wardrobe of suits, the distinctive nose, the chest hair (Ray), the dark hair and blue eyes (Fraser). He's got the failed marriage (Ray) and the ex named Victoria and the romance with a criminal (Fraser) and his ex's family didn't approve of him (Ray again).  He's got the overblown sense of justice (Fraser) and the abrasive personality (Ray).  He's got the love for his car and intimidates the lower ranking officers (Ray) and the equestrian prowess and spartan living quarters (Fraser).  Seriously, it's making me want to watch them both as a marathon and try my hand at predicting future character development for Lassie based on Due South.  Not sure where Ray K fits into this theory though, but then I never did much like Ray K and Season Three, which I basically ignored (What can I say? I'm a fan of the one true Ray).  Of course, Lassie also reminds me of Sledge Hammer(An absurd eighties show that I remember quite fondly) but I suppose that's just because he's a cop that's a little too fond of guns.

But honestly, Psych has it all-- the crime drama, the comedy, the awesome banter between buddies/family/coworkers/frenemies, an amazing ensemble cast, the fun movie/TV/music/WWE pop culture references, the surprising ease with which they manage to get their cast to dress up and do silly things and have it make some semblance of sense for the show.... I haven't seen season 6, but I'm eagerly awaiting it coming out on Netflix.

rl, psych
