I’m a fan of WWE wrestling. I watched as a kid, then kind of lost track of it for a while, and now I’m like a woman possessed watching it again. There are very few guys (only two actually) who were around both in my childhood watching years and the present. Those two being Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker (this is an awesome promo that’s a pretty ( Read more... )

I think my favorite thing about the Undertaker is his skill at keeping in character, because it's got to be hard to balance it all. How do you pretend to be the "Deadman" but help the other wrestler sell his moves? How can you be the good guy and still so closely tied to death? How do you make a character likeable without ever smiling? I just think his character and the actual wrestler are a really interesting dynamic.

I am just flabbergasted that he went on as though nothing had happened. I mean, he gets out of the fire area quickly, but he doesn't really run to either backstage or ringside, you can't tell from the video, but I don't think he freaks out and screams (you know, like I would). He just sheds his coat and hat at record speed and paces around the ring, understandably agitated. There are just no words-- I'm pretty sure even movie stunt guys take a lunch break or something after they were lit on fire. Seriously, he's just a badass. Love it.

I only watch Friday Night Smackdown (I don't have cable-- it's the only show that's on network TV) and I think a lot of the 'storylines' are crap, but damn this stuff is addictive. I mean, hot guys wearing not very much-- what's not to like? ;)
