I don't often make music recs, but I think everyone needs to listen to 10 years. I'm not sure what genre really to call them, but I saw them live when they were promoting their first album The Autumn Effect and they were a spectacular live show-- I mean incredible. I just bought their new album Divisions and they have upped their game. Their metaphors can be a little overly convoluted, but I really like their sound. If nothing else, give these two songs a try
So Long, Goodbye -- I take this song as a guy breaking up what he knows is a toxic relationship, even though he really loves her and wishes things were different.
Proud of You -- I can't help but think that this must be the perfect song for a parent to sing about a child. Or for a child to hope their parent thinks about them. Sappy, beautiful, amazing. Seriously guys, my heart.
