Fortunate Cookies
After a nice long 3way viewing of hedwig and the angry inch and tramain sneaking off to work sometime before i got up, ben and i went by Greenberries the starbucks/astroworld giftshop and then to Mai's for.. breakfast.. at 2 in the afternoon. We kind of circled it for a while like buzzards before finding the right way to come in and park, and then went after spring rolls and soup. While we were there, some guy drove up with an excursion or explorer or something that had been raised for a ground clearance of maybe 5 feet. And i know it floods here, and that it gets bad, but i submit that theres probably no need for anything past 3.5 feet tops. Ben suggested it was a compensation thing.
After our meal, the check came tucked under 2 nice fortune cookies, i took both in each hand, ben picked a hand after they were randomized (ie: me shuffling them under the table like an idiot) and after we ordered food for tramain we got 2 more. bonus fortunes. my read like this.
'You are capable, competent, creative and careful'
and
'It is the quality rather than quantity that matters. Do a good job.'
So maybe the day got off to a better start than i realized. I could certainly have done worse in the fortune cookie raffle.
