getting into a new fandom
posting in my lj for posterity. so that if i wanted to look back on this point of my life, i can just go 'wtf was i going on about' lol
but anyway, life as of late
ok so you clicked the cut. prepare for word vomit.
RIGHT. so i watched kieta hatsukoi and i was pretty meh about the episode during the beginning. i was expecting it to be a school romance with a love triangle and all but i guess i didn't know it was BL????!?! and boy was that a pleasant surprise. i usually don't watch live action BL because most of the time it feels forced and awkward. i stick to manga when it comes to this category. but!! but!!! this one was just. the leads had this amazing chemistry. the story was well written and the main characters were given time to develop. i love how it portrayed the leads' apprehension in making their relationship known for fear of judgment and isolation. and how their friends were so welcoming of their relationship instead.
i loved how pure it was, and overall just cute. i am MOST WEAK for this specific genre in BL. where there is a stoic and usually stickler seme (do people still use this term) and a bubbly, happy uke. plus!!! the fluff!!! needless to say i loved it. i loved it so much i finished the whole thing in one sitting.
i loved it so much i rewatched it the second the i finished it. i am currently rewatching it now for the fifth time. NO REGRETS. IDA AND AOKI are the best ♥
anyway, as if that was not enough for something i can obsess on, i found out that the other male lead was also from J&A. i was kinda surprised because as idols usually go, i thought he wasn't one (hint: it was the hair. rarely do idols have hair that short lol). and if you know me and my type, i am leaning more towards IDA-like characters more than i am towards aoki ones. so hahaha i guess imma have to go find out who this guy is. his name is meguro ren.
AND BAM. i am opening the youtube app, watching their many (!!!!) subtitled (!!!!!!!!!!!!) videos and soon enough, i am subscribed, downloading their discography, their concerts and basically everything i can get my hands on.
I LOVE SNOWMAN NOW.
and that is all i will say for now for fear that this will turn into a huge essay of messy feelings over meguro ren and his 8-man harem i mean snowman. bye.

- my baby boy turned one year old!!! truly how time flies. he is as active as can be and often you will find him walking/running around and then i am about a meter behind him, chasing after him. i guess this is my life now.
- i started watching jdramas again!
- on a whim, i watched kieta hatsukoi on netflix. i remember glossing over it because it was one of the first jdramas added to netflix but it didn't pique my interest enough at the time so i let it go. but i just finished watching the 5th remake of kindaichi with michieda shunsuke so i wanted to give this one a chance too.
