shinji ikari ☆ asuka langley soryu
leave it to me to pick the pair that is the most fucked up :| no really, it's kind of weird seeing all these happy fanworks when their canon universe is the total opposite. then again, i can't blame people for wanting something different. erm. so why i like them. i don't know if i've mentioned this explicitly, but i discovered i have a fetish for men who are unexpectedly manly. cue in shinji, the greatest wimp in the entire anime verse (probably? lol) who shows that he can be pretty manly at times--though that is still up for debate but whatever. and then there's asuka, the loudmouthed girl who bosses shinji around. OTP? i think so. they have a million issues to settle--with themselves, with each other--but i like how they are the exact opposites, even with the similarities that occurred in their life. and i am hoping, that somehow, in some way, canon can give them a break and hand them a happy ending, for once.
ichigo kurosaki ☆ rukia kuchiki
just so you know, i haven't checked in on bleach since FOREVER. but i doubt my otp choices will change either way so. ichigo and rukia's relationship go deeper than anything else. it probably has something to do with being able to sacrifice something for other, even when they've only met. apart from shinigami abilities being exchanged, a bond was built. both of them have proven that that bond isn't something trivial, with rukia willing to pay for it with her life, and ichigo doing everything he can to save her. it somehow feels like ichigo's life started when rukia entered it, cheesy as that sounds. they manage to have this cute atmosphere around them, even though they underwent pretty serious things. i'm rambling now but i just. ship these two. forever.
toushiro hitsugaya ☆ momo hinamori
sakjbds i dare you to tell me that these two aren't adorable. i like how hinamori started out as this little girl who just wants to prove something to everyone--including (maybe even especially) hitsugaya. she tells him stories about being a shinigami, and i sense a feeling of superiority here though i doubt hinamori didn't mean well. it's just that she's glad that she's not the "bed-wetter" for once. she's grown up. then she gets a giggly girl crush on aizen and all of the sudden hitsugaya turns surly and boom. he's captain of his own squad. lol. this pair incorporates too many adorable themes: childhood friends, plus that first love kind of feeling. idek i just love them to bits ughhhhh
shikamaru nara ☆ ino yamanaka
THESE TWO. to be honest, i didn't think i'd love this pair as much as i do now. i liked them before, although that was only on the "well i think they look nice together" way. but now that i think about it, these two are so obviously, helplessly made for each other. whether they like it or not. and really, they don't like it. lol. they've both set standards on who they want for a partner, and the other just clashes with that standard horribly. and yet, they know each other better than anyone else. they manage to work in tandem, to compensate for the other's shortcomings. i don't know how people can refuse to see it, but they're perfect for each other.
kishimoto better make it canon because he let me down too many times with sasuke and naruto :|
heero yuy ☆ relena peacecraft
this was my otp before i even knew what otp meant. i just realized that i was watching pretty heavy stuff when i was younger lol. this, and then evangelion. but anyway, in spite of not understanding much of the actual plot then (give my eleven-year-old self a break ok), i just know that these two are better together. how romantic is it that the guy you like points a gun at you? apart from that, i just love the characters individually too. relena especially, because i think she gets less love than she deserves. i admire her for being strong, for handling things like she did, and for being in love with a guy, but still knowing where her priorities lie. a girl after my own heart, definitely.

where do i even begin with this pair. i think the moment that i shipped these two was when i read a strip about them; it was the one where hungary was planning to join a war (or something) and she was talking to prussia about it. and she also happened to think she was male. "but you don't have a penis." "doesn't everyone grow one when they get older?" /DIES AND SHIPS THEM
apart from the epic penis line, there is also their close alliances, but now when hungary sees prussia, she takes out her frying pan. so much unresolved tension, i love it.

this was the reason i bothered to google arashi lol. so for anyone who didn't know, i watched hana yori dango and was jun baited into the fandom. but before i started shipping real guys together, i shipped these two first. i remember reading tons of fanservice-y things about them. the date jun planned for mao! the kissing picture in jun's bag! the teasing from arashi themselves! i am secretly hoping they get friday-ed (again?). REALLY.
tadayoshi ohkura ☆ mikako tabe
so this i don't have absolute basis but i really started liking them after yasuko to kenji. that was when they announced that gm odore would have the two of them together (again). and i started thinking how ohkura was like in real life, because he's rumored to be a playboy and stuff. and i started thinking how tabe-chan would react to all of this because though ohkura looks like sex on a stick, he doesn't strike me as someone who plays around with girls. and ta-da. otp born! i don't care if you think my reason is flimsy. in my head they have awkward cute conversations together.
lee seung gi ☆ shin min ah
it's only for a drama, but i really fell in love with these two. they're both great actors, but they are so cute off cam! they both look really shy here awww. plus they did a great job on gumiho, it really got me out of my drama slump. i was on the look out for shippy bits about them but i found none (i found one where seul ong was fanboying min ah though. slight disappointment on my part) apart from seung gi saying their kiss ranked first on his on-screen kisses. but whatever. i'm hoping for a project with these two together again.

SURPRISE SURPRISE i think i've rambled on and on about these two for too long. kwon being unexpectedly manly and reliable. ga in being manipulative and just plain cute. and their undeniable chemistry. may they really get married someday soon.

my one tree hill ship forever and ever. they didn't end up together, but i loved the part where they were together. lucas broke brooke's heart too many times, and brooke did too many stupid things as well, but somehow they found their way back to each other. the artist and the cheerleader is such a weird combo, but they pulled it off. plus, their scenes seriously made me go aawww in my seat.

i actually didn't start shipping ron/hermione until these two. they were kind of the pair that i went aawww for but didn't really do anything after that. i just thought they were cute. when the deathly hallows stills leaked though, it was just a sudden explosion of rupert/emma goodies and i was too weak to resist. stay adorable guys.
because i am a shipping machine, there are definitely a lot more straight pairs that i ship apart from these; but these are the ones that are my all time favorites, or have recently made an impact on me. i will say this now: none of the artworks posted are mine. i did not draw them. let's just make that clear.
