NOLA in November :)
Andrew and I are booked to go to NOLA during the regular QuarterCon time period since that works out fairly well for us and with the weather plus it's after elections are over and our friends Bill and Linda will once again be joining us. The dates are 11-14 through 11-19 and we'll be staying at the Hotel St. Marie which is essentially next door to the Maison Dupuy on Toulouse, just a block or so closer to Bourbon. AAA has a discounted rate of $71/night on the weeknights and $143 on Sat/Sun, which is pretty awesome for a good location so centrally located. We stayed there for my birthday a few years ago and it's a very nice hotel, so we are pleased. We opted to not go back to the Frenchman again because they raised the rates on us so much we just couldn't pay for the suite anymore. But, in fairness, they've kept the suite rate the same as what we're getting this regular king (or queen) room for, and all the years we spent there were very much enjoyed and the rate was appreciated. But I understand that businesses are in it to make money and if they can make more off of somebody else for the room, more power to them, that's what people are in business for, not to make me happy with an uber-cheap price year after year. :)
So, anybody who happens to book a vacation during that time period, I'll see you then and if you won't be there, I shall most certainly miss you and raise my first beer of the weekend to you!
