Kurt Russell's Role (Major Spoilers)
So I was bored and began looking around for pics from the set when I stumbled upon an article that contained possible major spoilers for Fast 7 and Fast 8.
The spoiler contained something is a definite throwback to the first movie when it all began including in reference to a minor character that wasn't even a minor character. I guess we were wrong about whose dad Russell would play.
Apparently, Diesel tweeted “Kurt Russel was almost about to join #Fast7. He would play the father of Jesse, and he would be Toretto’s villain.”
Now it's making me wonder if Letty would get pregnant with Dom's son and the guy would want revenge; a son for a son. I don't that Jesse's dad would focus on Jack as while he is connected to Dom, he's not Dom's son. Unless he just wants to mess with Brian for being the undercover officer. But let's face it, ever since Fast 4, the series has been pretty Dom-centric (which I hate). According to sources, Jesse's dad would be in cahoots with the elder Shaw. Now, ain't that fun? I can definitely see Shaw trying to twist Jesse's dad against Dom. The only thing is that if Shaw is dealt with in Fast 7 in a similar fashion to his younger brother in Fast 6, would that make Jesse's dad the villain for Fast 8?
Hopefully, Fast 8 might include flashbacks so Chad Lindberg and Johnny Strong would be able to have small cameos in the franchise they helped to kick off. I would have liked to see a couple of flashbacks to how the Torretto gang was before that fateful operation and fallout. Considering they have CGI and the techniques learned from Tron: Legacy, they could superimpose their younger faces over the characters. I think the voice would be similar enough that the sound team wouldn't have to mess around with the audio much. Might also work for Sean. XD
I wonder if we will see the return of not the iconic Supra from the first movie but the other car that was the catalyst for the final act: the blue/white 1995 Volkswagen Jetta GLX that was riddled with bulletholes. It would be an assume foreshadow.
