First Shift: Anise Tatlin: (Breakfast/Cafeteria)
- Takes note of Aguilar's Spanish accent in the last announcement of the previous night.
- L wakes up to the first day of a full military takeover of the Institute.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Everything that has happened so far has been with Aguilar's complicity. Do not expect better treatment from him.
- "Psychiatric care" pretense has been dropped in favor of treating them like conscripted cadets.
- Not allowed to oversleep.
- Mild nervousness about armed guards; talks himself out of it.
- Forced to wear new uniform. It's too stiff for him.
- Hates the hat and the M-U pin.

--- Comparable to annoying bandages.
--- Constant reminder of his suffering.
- The number on his dog tag, 33153952M, bothers him. Something about the pattern...
--- The reason, which he won't figure out until later, is that the numbers are an alphanumeric equivalent code for LLAWLIET.
- Wonders if the nurses are being held somewhere on premises.
- No breakfast! He hasn't had breakfast since Monday.
- Thinks that the forced cleaning of the cafeteria holds several purposes:
--- Humiliating the patients and showing them "who's in charge."
--- Social pressure on those who behaved worst in the food fight.
- Meets Anise when she swears under her breath.
--- Thinks her innocent act is at least partly a ploy.
--- Is aware from her hat pin that she's been an SCer, which means:
--- Anise has "powers" of some kind or is stronger than she looks.

Third Shift: Castiel: (Lunch/Cafeteria)
Fourth Shift: Ema Skye: (Sun Room after Shower)

Note: Most of this NS involves studying transcripts of intercom and radio posts that L got from Javert a few days earlier. This would have been at least the gist of the dialogue only, none of the rest of the prose, between Dinner Shift on Day 22 and L's arrival on Day 43, minus the night Javert had M-U (which I believe was NS 31). These transcripts can be found via the "radio" and "intercom" tags on the main community, but I also have Google Docs versions which have all the posts in chronological order, but have not been edited down to dialogue only.
