Feeling very geeky indeed.

In need of a rest so sitting on the sofa watching the Miss Marple with Benedict Cumberbatch in it on YouTube. It has a lot of people who are very familiar in it, and even the chap who played Henry Knight in Hounds. I was expecting a large dog to run through the churchyard.

While that is going on I have been upgrading the RAM on my computers. Mrs Hudson ('Not your Laptop, Dear.') got a new hip courtesy of Nubbin the Notebook who donated 2 gig since his eating disorder carried him off. He stopped charging after he was dropped when I moved house (the thing the power cord plugged into snapped off - whoops!) which meant that was the end of him. Nubbin has also donated his battery, as he was identical to Mrs H apart from him being black and her being pink. I can carry both batteries when I go off on a visit somewhere, and have a nice lot of battery life.

Next was Jolinar. who I recently resurrected with an attack on the fan vent with the vacuum. She apparently was running Xubuntu quite happily on one gig. ONE GIG OF RAM; THAT IS SCARILY SMALL. As I have been pulling the very dead Martouf apart he has donated a kidney of 1 gig (so she is now whizzy on two gig) and I am putting his hard drive somewhere else so I can use it externally. I shall have to buy a few of those hard drive cases, they are selling them on Amazon for silly prices (about £2.50 each).

Xubuntu is going to update to Quantal soon so I must probably do a total reinstall on both of these sometime.
