I was with
garienos overnight, as until the landlord fixes the lack of washer outflow in the kitchen I am in need of my bf's washer at weekends! I also got a trip to Tesco to get plastic storage boxes for the kitchen. Still not totally sure why they give you a large number of ones so tiny they wouldn't hold even a tea bag but ...
Anyway, more photos of butterflies were taken in the field behind
garienos ; garden and also at Somerleyton Hall which we went to visit. We had fun in the maze there (easier going in than coming out) and I took photos of butterflies the flowerbeds.
This is scary! Apparently when you see bushes of hawthorn or blackthorn stripped of their leaves and covered in what looks like a big spider's web a plague of these are responsible. On its own it looks fairly harmless:
This Meadow Brown was laying eggs in the grass:
This is a female Black Darter - there were a lot of the males (all black) flying about but they don't land so much.
A female Meadow Grasshopper in a pear tree (yes really!)
Big daisies from Somerleyton Hall:
Where they also had a pair of Small Tortoiseshell's flying about:
This one let me get in really close:
