Girl In The Fireplace

Well. Um. Err.

Can't say I really, really hated that episode. Don't think I'll be watching it again in a big hurry though. I'd rather just forget it was ever screened. Yes ( Read more... )

It's times like these I LOVE being flexible in my shipping :D

I'm glad at least you could see its good points! Even if it made you sad ;__; Made me sad too. But for different reasons, I think.

I'm not much of a shipper (and not an anti-shipper either), but I thought the way he left Rose and Mickey to rot on the ship was disturbing. I have a theory that it's meant to look like that and there's something wrong with him.

I find it hard to believe that the Doctor fell in love with her after like an hour of being together. I can see it from Poopys point of view even if it is sort of creepy. He sure goes for the young ones, eh?

I didn't buy it at all, partly because the actress was uninteresting, but mostly from the amount of time he spent with her ...as an adult.

Hi - I found your review via time_and_chips, hope it's ok to post a comment here rather than at the community.

I really am not Moffatt's biggest fan right now because of what he did to Rose. A few of my friends and I are still pretty cut up about the fact that he had the Doctor leave Rose forever (well, it would sort of be forever, since she can't pilot the TARDIS), in favour of a woman that he literally has met only a handful of times...and even then, he's got to know her primarily as a child. She kisses him the first time she meets him as an adult and given previous characterisation, I seriously fail to see how he could fall in love/lust with her immediately after one kiss. Rose has been messed around big-time here, and RTD (or other writers - certainly not that arse Moffatt) better make it up to her (and us!) in the rest of the series!!!

I'm assuming the Doctor and Poopy had teh hawt sex. Considering Moffat invented the "dance" thing and Poopy said the Doctor needed to learn. My little heart sort of constricted and popped a vein at that. Not ( ... )

Freaking oath. This episode disturbed me enough that I don't think I could take another cock up in the future. Of course, as some have said, this might be a downfall for the D/R relationship so they can make it up in the future episodes. In my opinion they were getting a little too cosy with each other anyway. To the point of being actually too cute (If that's possible. Some would argue it's not ( ... )

I don't even know how he kissed her to tell you the truth. Dental hygeine back that couldn't have been too good :/

Don't mean to interrupt, but just to add to that bit, I don't believe people began regularly brushing their teeth until about the nineteenth century.
So, yeah. It might have been a bit gross had Sophia Myles' hotness not cancelled that out.

Oh thank goodness, another mature thread that doesn't degrade to "liek omgz nooooose the doctur wuld liek nvr kiss another girl!!!111oneone".

"piss farting" LMAO.

I guess since it happened off screen we'll never know for sure if the Doctor and "Poopy" (when in Rome...) did teh hawt shag, unless of course he says so, but why would he? Rose presumably didn't see any of the snogging occur. But the Doctor did show back up after disappearing for the "dance" a wee bit tipsy, his shirt was untucked, tie on the head, etc. Where did the hippy thing come from anyway? "Funny" as it was supposed to be, he wasn't partying in the 70's...

I'll be majorly pissed off if the pair act like nothing has happened next episode.Yep, me too, but then I said that at the end of SR... so I'm pretty much expecting the same thing here. Looming story arcs and character growth are certainly missing from this season's eppies. We had the whole Time War looming over Nine. Why couldn't say, we have a bad/difficult/gone wrong regeneration or something looming ( ... )

you made a really valid point and i completely agree except the bit surrounding David Tennant, i think he is VERY FIT and most of all, the best doctor yet. He brings an amazing new angle to the character and i think you should all quit being mean about him leaving Rose and kissing other people. He left her because he had no choice, he promised madam de pompadour that he would help her so i guess he had to. He kissed her because lets face it, they are both beautiful people and Sophia Myles was playing a notoriously promiscuous character so that is i guess what she does to find out things about people. As for it not being related to other stories in the series, doctor who is not linked one to another like a soap therefore it is all good natured fun to watch. Get a bloody grip you lot and stop analyzing coolness; lay off my lover- to- be!!!!!!!!!!

YES.

I feel that Ten is piss farting around with Rose's feelings while he's not even thinking twice. I think he's confused about what he's feeling himself.
Yes.

The last two episodes have pretty much contradicted their behavior in the first two.
YES.

Um, gj, Doctor, crashing the time window and leaving Rose and Mickey behind on a random abandoned space station in the 51st century, with chances of ever getting back to them = slim to none.
What also strikes me as strange is that he just jumped through the mirror and left the TARDIS behind without a second thought. I myself think that maybe the Doctor would at least be a little upset at having to live without the beloved ship for the next, what, 3000 years?

...Yeah. :(
