Gokudera, for a change, wasn't actually in the middle of patching himself up or washing up bloodied clothing, but was instead reading. He had done some research on the various clans of vampires that lived around Allupato and was trying to organize things in a way that would be most useful for him; he needed to memorize things like where they liked to hang out, what pseudonyms they used, possible repeat targets and so on. It was a lot to go over and it required every bit of his attention ( ... )

Yamamoto was even happier when Gokudera didn't answer the door with an open wound. The glare and the insult went ignored, and he smiled down at the other man. "Hi! I brought dinner like I said I would." He declared and held up the container as if to prove he had actually brought it with him. "You didn't forget right?" He asked, but the grin on his lips indicated it had been more of a joke than a question.

Of course Gokudera hadn't forgotten; they'd just talked earlier. That would take one short attention span to forget! "I hope you like tuna and scorpion fish; that's all they had in the market." All that was fresh anyway. He'd considered grabbing an eel as well but they looked sick, and that wouldn't have been very good.

Getting Gokudera sick probably would have made the man even less hospitable to him. "Oh and tea, too. They didn't really have a lot besides soda. I should have thought about it and gotten the sake earlier ha!"

"..." Ugh, well that ended in failure. The guy didn't seem to grasp any form of subtlety and probably wouldn't ever understand things in basic speech, like inflection or tone or--what the hell, he was grinning? What for? Gokudera's eyes narrowed and he scoffed, "Yeah, whatever." No, he didn't forget--though it had slipped his mind briefly--but that didn't mean he wanted to acknowledge that fact. He rolled his eyes a little, straightening his posture so that he didn't seem so slouched--bad habit of his--and grunted.

He was going on about something, most likely whatever food the guy brought with him, and Gokudera couldn't bring himself to care. Tuna and scorpion fish? He twitched a little; the idea of food wasn't something he found appealing most of the time, especially fish, but he wasn't going to tell the dumbass that--living at a port town and not liking fish? A little odd-sounding, he thought ( ... )

Yamamoto's grin toned down to a smile as he had talked and Gokudera's short answers seemed to be well accepted. He nodded to Gokudera's question about the sake, well it was sort of a question, and stepped inside as the other man stepped out of the way. Out of habit he slid his shoes off in the entranceway and went right on in to get the food set out.

He unpacked what he had brought on the first available flat surface, the coffee table seemed like the only option since the other one was covered in papers, and laid out the three containers of sushi with their lids off. It certainly looked delicious, but Yamamoto still felt it was a little sub-par when he thought on his father's sushi ( ... )

Gokudera closed the door after Yamamoto with a sigh, making sure to clip the latch and lock it and all that. He wasn't exactly paranoid, but he felt a little safer with it locked when he had company over. He followed after Yamamoto, scratching at his neck absently as he watched him set things up. Oh. Sushi. That brought back some memories that Gokudera didn't enjoy dwelling on. He could feel his stomach turn just from the smell of it, but it didn't make him entirely nauseated. It was just some kind of inbred reaction. One that was rather irritating when Gokudera actually wanted to eat.

Whatever. He'd get over it. And it wasn't as though he couldn't just refuse to eat entirely. It wasn't like he cared about whatever the hell Yamamoto wanted to celebrate.

"..." An extra box? Great. He couldn't eat half of one, what would possess the dumbass to bring another one? He scrunched his nose and sat down next to Yamamoto, making sure to keep a safe, comfortable distance. He scowled a little at his question and shook his head, "No, I don't." ( ... )
