This* is why it is a bad idea for politicians to set the course on scientific and technological development. This is why, when detailed political decisions and regulations become the primary tool, we will be dragged back to the cave-dwelling stage while the environment still goes to hell.
I also cannot help but noting that this genius belongs to the very same party that has also seriously proposed banning all homework in schools, since the aim of the school system, popular belief to the contrary, according to them is not to teach knowledge, but to make everyone exactly equal(ly uneducated). Me, I think its about time some people actually did do their homework, starting from the principle of
conservation of energy (a.k.a.
the first law of thermodynamics).
*Sorry, link in Swedish. The site shows a YouTube video where Peter Pedersen from Vänsterpartiet (the reformed communist party) proposes a perpetuum mobile of the first kind, by suggesting that energy be taken from the viscous flow of air around a moving car in order to charge a battery used to power the car, in obvious violation of one of the most basic laws of physics (taught in all elementary schools with any kind of science curriculum at all).
