How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

I had a rather odd nightmare recently. Apparently, I was on some getaway with my girlfriend at some lodge looking place in the wilderness somewhere. However, my parents were there also, and so were a bunch of her friends. Maybe I shouldn't have said getaway. I only had one conversation with her in this dream. It was an argument about how my parents were planning all the activities. She was upset about this and made it a point to forgo some of these plans and arrange a party instead. It was a good size soirée. It seemed as though some more friends came in from town. I knew no one, and I didn't see her the whole time. Through some mingling, I got to know some girlfriend of hers who caught my eye. We sort of hit it off and things got very friendly. Anyway, it turned out that this broad had a boyfriend. I don't remember whether he was at the party at the time or in town somewhere, but he was the mentally unstable jealous type. During the course of the festivities, many decided it was a good idea to go to a huge mall (or thats what it looked like to me) back in civilization. So I went with her, looking all 'coupley.' Where was my girlfriend? Your guess is as good as mine. Anyway, someone at the party (or by some other agency of which I am now unaware) spilled the beans about me and her. Her boyfriend was looking for us at the mall. She caught sight of him, but decided it was a good idea to kiss me goodbye in plain view. The only circumstances possibly preventing his clearly seeing this was a considerable distance between him and us and the darkness of a what looked like a parking lot. We parted amicably, and I think she may have pointed me out as a friend as I walked away. I felt funny about it though. Somehow I got the feeling that he sensed something and was going to hurt her and me. The rest was a mad scramble through the mall, running into crowds and people I met at the party earlier that evening. I'm not sure whether I was running to her aid or away from him. I'd bet on the latter. What? You don't expect me risk my neck for someone I just met?! Besides, now that I think of it I don't think she was all that good looking. But you know what they say: Practice makes perfet.
