Tonight Cory and I went to The Palace to hear Maya Angelou. At first I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but it wound up being an inspirational evening of funny stories, poems, and reflective anecdotes founded in love, advocacy, and visionary heroism. Amazing.
On a totally different note, as of yesterday: I have lost 100 lbs. I don't mention it much on here, nor do I hide it, but last week marked my one-year anniversary of starting Weight Watchers. And what a year it has been! It's not just the weight loss, there have been so many other changes in my life, almost all for the better. I'm a lucky girl. We plan to celebrate, but we're not quite sure what is most fitting yet. We were supposed to go for a hot air balloon ride to commemorate my 50 lb. mark, but the season ended a week earlier than Pound 49 came off, so we may give that another shot. Or we may go to an amusement park. Or take a little weekend jaunt to Vermont if we can arrange schedules (which seems to be harder and harder to do these days.) I'm sure we'll come up with an appropriate adventure for the occasion. I'm excited. :)
good times,
weight watchers,
cory
