4th of July Madness

Jul 04, 2006 21:15

My 4th of July was ruined very early on in the day. A new record, I have to say, thanks to the sharp tongue and mean spirted comments of my Grandmother.

When having a family get together, which are becoming increasingly rare in my family, I do NOT want to discuss business. I have a company to run. I work all the time. I leave my house in the early morning, and often don't return home until 11:30 or midnight. I work ALL the time. I DO NOT want to discuss business matters at FAMILY GATHERINGS and on HOLIDAYS, I just want to relax. In addition to all of the financial problems I'm dealing with, I've got serious, and I mean SERIOUS personal problems which quite frankly, are a lot easier to ignore when I'm working all day. But the fact of the matter is, with two law suits pending (one against a contractor and one against a real esate company) and a very, very large property management company to over see, I'm a busy man, and I just wanted to enjoy my holiday and eat until I puked. But no, Grandmother had to go and be a bitch!

Normally I'm hyper sensitive and tend to over react a bit, but my sister, my mother, and even my father apologized to me later. She was out of line.

Could someone just for once say something positive and constructive to me??? Like, "Hey, Thanks for not being a total fuck up like just about everyone else in the family." Is that too much to ask???
